# How Phork It! uses your data

What we store, who can see your recipes, what goes to AI services to build a recipe, and what we never do. A plain summary of our privacy approach.

We store your email, your settings, and what you put into Phork It!: recipes, plans, shopping lists and cooking history. They're private to you, except recipes you choose to share with a link. Here's a plain summary; our [Privacy Policy](https://phorkit.com/privacy) has the full details.

## Who can see what

- **Your recipes, plan, list and cooks** are private to your account.
- **A shared link** shows the recipe, its photos and the original creator's credit to anyone with the link. Never your name, your ratings or notes, or your cooking history.
- **Your profile** (name, allergies, diet, nutrition goals) is yours only and never appears on a shared page.

## How importing uses AI

To build a recipe, Phork It! sends the source's text (a caption, a page or your pasted text), and sometimes a video's audio, to AI services that write up the recipe, estimate nutrition and sort items into aisles. Your email and name are never sent with it.

- **Videos aren't kept.** We read the caption and speech, keep the written recipe and its pictures, and delete the video and audio.
- **Photos you upload** have their location and camera details removed.
- **Nutrition** is worked out from a copy of the USDA food database kept on our own servers.

## What we don't do

- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't sign in to TikTok, Instagram or other sites on your behalf, and they receive nothing about you when we read a link.

## Your choices

- **Delete your account** any time in **Settings** › **Account** › **Delete account**. You have 30 days to undo it; after that your personal data is erased.
- **Get a copy of your data** or make any other privacy request by emailing [hello@phorkit.com](mailto:hello@phorkit.com).
- **Turn off a share link** by deleting the recipe, or ask us to turn it off.
