# How to delete your account and your data

Delete your Phork It! account from Settings. You have 30 days to change your mind, then your personal data is erased for good.

You can delete your account yourself, in the app or in the browser. Your recipes, plan and shopping list disappear straight away, and you have 30 days to change your mind before your personal data is erased for good.

## Delete your account

**1. Open Settings, then Account**

Tap **Account** at the top of **Settings**.

**2. Tap Delete account**

The app asks "Delete your account?" and explains what happens.

**3. Confirm**

Tap **Delete account** again. You're signed out on every device.

## What happens next

- **Straight away:** you're signed out everywhere, and your recipes, plan, shopping list, cooks and share links are hidden. Shared recipe links stop working. Any AI assistant you connected loses access.
- **Within 30 days:** changed your mind? Sign in with the same email and everything comes back. You'll see "Welcome back".
- **After 30 days:** your account and personal data are erased permanently. Signing in with that email again creates a brand-new, empty account.

> **Trying without an email?**

If you never added an email, deleting the account erases everything at once. There's no 30-day window, because there's no way to sign back in.

## Things to know

- **Backups:** encrypted backups may hold a copy of your data for a limited time after it's erased, until they expire.
- **Getting a copy of your data:** there's no export button in the app. Email [hello@phorkit.com](mailto:hello@phorkit.com) for a copy or any other privacy request.
- **Can't open the app?** Email us from the address on your account and we'll help.
