# How to use Phork It! with ChatGPT or Claude Connect Phork It! to ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant and ask it to import recipes, plan meals, build your shopping list and log cooks. You can add Phork It! to ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant that supports connectors. Then just ask: "import this TikTok and plan it for Thursday", "swap Friday's dinner for the dal", "tick off the milk" or "I made the lasagne, 5 stars". It all happens in your own Phork It! account, and shows up in the app. ## Connect Claude **1. Open Claude's connector settings** At claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, open **Settings** › **Connectors** and choose **Add custom connector**. **2. Add Phork It!** Name it Phork It! and paste `https://api.phorkit.com/mcp` as the server URL. Leave the advanced settings empty. Choose **Add**, then **Connect**. **3. Sign in to Phork It!** A Phork It! page opens. Type your email, choose **Send code**, type the 6-digit code from the email and choose **Allow**. **4. Start asking** In a chat, make sure Phork It! is turned on in the tools menu, then ask away. ## Connect ChatGPT On the web, ChatGPT adds Phork It! as a plugin. Some ChatGPT plans don't offer custom plugins yet. ChatGPT's menu names change from time to time, so yours may look a little different. **5. Open ChatGPT's plugins** Open **Plugins**, choose **Add**, then **Add custom MCP server**. **6. Add Phork It!** Name it Phork It!, paste `https://api.phorkit.com/mcp` as the **Server URL** and leave authentication on **OAuth**. Leave the advanced OAuth settings alone. Tick **I understand and want to continue** and choose **Create as a plugin**. **7. Sign in to Phork It!** Choose **Connect Phork It!**. On the Phork It! page, type your email, choose **Send code**, enter the code and choose **Allow**. **8. Start asking** In a chat, ask something like "Find my pasta recipes in Phork It!". Recipes show as Phork It! cards with their photo. In a list of recipes, choose **Select recipe** to tell ChatGPT which one you mean. Each person adds Phork It! to their own ChatGPT or Claude. It always works in the Phork It! account of whoever signed in. Other apps that support remote MCP servers with sign-in can use the same address. ## What your assistant can do - **Recipes:** import from a link, write down a recipe, find, read, edit and delete recipes. - **Meal plan:** see your plan, add, move or change meals, and remove them. - **Shopping list:** add recipes, your plan or single items, tick things off, remove items or clear the list. - **Cooks and collections:** log cooks with ratings and notes, and organise collections. It only ever works in your own account. Before deleting or overwriting anything, the assistant can ask you first, and deleting a recipe always tells you what changes before it happens. Imports count towards the same limits as in the app. ## Plan the week and order your groceries If your assistant can also use a web browser for you, such as ChatGPT's agent mode or Claude with computer use or Claude in Chrome, it can take your Phork It! shopping list to your online grocery shop and fill the basket. **9. Plan the week** Ask something like "Plan dinners Monday to Friday from my saved recipes, something quick on Wednesday." Check the plan it suggests, and it adds the meals to your Phork It! plan. **10. Build the shopping list** Ask "Put this week on my shopping list." Everything you need goes on one list, by aisle. Take off what you already have, or add extras like "and bin bags". **11. Let it fill your basket** Ask "Order everything on my shopping list from my grocery site." The assistant opens the shop in its browser and adds each item to your basket. Sign in to the shop yourself when it asks. **12. Check out yourself** The assistant tells you what it added, swapped or couldn't find. Check the basket, choose a delivery slot and pay. Then ask "Tick off what you ordered" so only the missing things stay on your list. > **Good to know** Phork It! doesn't connect to grocery shops or see your basket or payment details: your assistant does the shopping in its own browser, on your shop account. Your list shows what the recipes need, like 2 tbsp soy sauce, so the assistant picks the pack sizes. Some assistants can't use connectors while they browse. Then ask for your list as plain text in a normal chat first, and paste it in. ## Disconnect Remove or disconnect Phork It! in your assistant's connector settings. Deleting your Phork It! account also ends every connection. If you don't use the connection for 30 days, you'll need to connect again. > **Note:** You need a Phork It! account with an email to connect.
