Log each time you cook a recipe with 1 to 5 stars, up to 5 photos and a note for next time, then find it all in the recipe's History.

Every time you cook something, log it with a rating, photos and a note for next time ("less chilli"). Each recipe keeps its cooks under History, so you know what worked.

Log a cook

There are three ways to do it:

  • From cook mode: tap Finish on the last step. The cook is saved straight away, and you can add a photo while the food is ready, plus stars and a note.
  • From the recipe: open its menu and choose Mark as cooked.
  • From the plan: on the Plan tab, tap the ⋮ next to the meal and choose Mark as cooked. The meal gets a green tick.
  1. Check the details

In Cooked it, Day starts on today (pick an earlier day if you cooked it before). Adjust Servings and Recipe options if you made something different.

  2. Rate it and add photos

Give it 1 to 5 stars, add up to 5 photos of the dish and a note. All of these are optional.

  3. Tap Mark as cooked

The cook appears in the recipe's History.

See, edit or delete your cooks

Open a recipe and scroll to History: its cooks are listed newest first, with stars, servings, notes and photos. Tap the ⋮ next to one of your cooks to Edit it (day, rating, photos, note, servings, options) or Delete it.

Rate the recipe itself

Besides each cook's stars, a recipe has Your rating, next to Start cooking. Tap a star to rate the recipe, and tap the same star again or Clear to take it off. Until you rate it, the average of your cooks' stars shows there instead, and once you have, it shows underneath. Rating a cook doesn't change the recipe's rating. It's shared with your household, isn't shown when you share the recipe, and doesn't change the recipe or its History. Recipes you brought from another app keep the stars you gave them there.

Cooks and your plan

  • Logging from the recipe screen doesn't tick a planned meal by itself. To tick a meal, mark it from the plan, or open the recipe by tapping the meal on the plan.
  • Already logged the recipe today and now marking the planned meal? Phork It! asks Already logged?: tap Use that cook so you don't log it twice.
  • In History, a cook that isn't linked to the plan has Link to plan in its ⋮ menu.
  • To undo a meal you marked by mistake, tap its ⋮ on the plan and choose Unmark as cooked. Its rating and note go too.
