Share a recipe page to Phork It! from your browser, or paste its link into the app. Phork It! keeps the recipe and leaves out the life story, the ads and the pop-ups.

Import a recipe page

  1. Open the recipe in your browser

Any recipe website or blog will do.

  2. Share it, or copy the link

On a phone, tap your browser's Share button and pick Phork It!. The import starts by itself.

Or copy the page's address, open Phork It!, tap + on Recipes, then Import from a link, paste it and tap Phork It!.

  3. Open your recipe

Most websites take about 5 to 15 seconds. Tap Open recipe when it says "Phorked!".

What you get

  • On most big recipe sites, the site's own title, times, servings, ingredient sections ("For the sauce"), step wording and photos, including photos of individual steps.
  • On pages without a proper recipe card, Phork It! writes the recipe up from the page's text and keeps the pictures that show the dish or its steps. Ads, logos and pictures of other recipes are left out.
  • A credit to the website, with a link back to the page.

Recipes from ChatGPT

Asked ChatGPT for a recipe? Share it from ChatGPT and import the link like any web page:

  • One answer: tap Share under ChatGPT's answer and copy the link.
  • A whole chat: use ChatGPT's Share button at the top of the chat and copy the link. Phork It! reads ChatGPT's answers, starting from the latest.

Phork It! keeps the recipe ChatGPT wrote: its ingredients, steps and tips, without ChatGPT's suggestions for what to ask next. The recipe has no photo, because the pictures in ChatGPT's answers come from other websites. The address in your browser while you chat (it has /c/ in it) is private, so it won't import: share the chat to get a link.

Pages that won't import

  • Pages with several recipes, like "The 20 best weeknight dinners", are refused with "This has several recipes in it. Import one recipe at a time." Open the one recipe you want and import its own page.
  • PDFs and pictures linked directly aren't web pages. Save the picture or take a screenshot and use Import from photos, or copy the text and use Import from text.
  • Some big sites block apps from reading their pages. You'll see "This website doesn't let apps read its pages." Trying again later sometimes works, because it depends on the day. If not, copy the recipe's text and use Import from text.
  • Link-in-bio pages and shops aren't recipes, so they usually end as "not a recipe".
